About Us
Cat Sheppard & Amy Corbett set up Mountain Thyme in 2017, setting up a large teaching kitchen in the centre of Verbier.
We have since followed the trend and moved down the valley to Versegères, to a brand-new custom-built kitchen. Mountain Thyme was a long-held dream of Cat’s, to cater and teach in the mountains, and has now been working to provide food and happiness throughout the Val de Bagnes and further afield (feeding everyone through COVID and beyond!) for some years.
Our popular Delicious Dinners provide a wide range of yummy handmade oven-ready meals, available for both delivery and collection. We use the best ingredients to create seasonal menus, making life easy for those who want to eat well with none of the hassle of shopping or cooking. We are also extremely experienced in catering for events and celebrations, travelling far and wide to cater for weddings, corporate events, private parties and local festivals. We have been working since we first began with Verbier International School, providing cookery classes as an after-school activity. We also provide classes to many of the fantastic summer camps on offer here, including Ecole Suisse Snowgli camps, Les Elfes International and Altitude.
Cat’s experience of cooking and teaching has come from a long background of working for some of London’s top catering companies, as well as cooking for the McLaren F1 team, acting as the Food & Beverage manager for Malmaison & Hotel du Vin, running the London region for the Let’s Get Cooking programme as part of the Children’s Food Trust, and setting up a Game & Wild Food Cookery school in Berkshire.
She has also worked as teacher for the WI (Women’s Institute), Leiths School of Food & Wine, and the Honesty Cookery School. She first came to Verbier as a chef for Ski Verbier Exclusive in 2001 which is where the idea first came to set up a cookery school here.
